CHEER ON THE LUTON TOWN LADIES THIS SUNDAY!

15 November 2019

Sponsored by

We encourage our supporters to head down to the Brache this Sunday and cheer on the Hatters Ladies as they take on Bedford Ladies in the Bedfordshire FA County Cup quarter final - in what will be the first ever Women's Football Weekend.

The game will kick-off at 2pm - entry is £2 for adults and £1 for children.

Currently sat in sixth in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League, the Town will be looking to defeat a side they lost in the final to last season, having boasted a fantastic record in the competition in the last decade.

HATTERS LADIES MANAGER NIKKI BAKER SAID:

“We lost the final to Bedford last season, so we are really hungry to get the trophy back. We have won the trophy regularly in the last few years, so losing it last year hurt a lot. We will be putting out our strongest team to try and progress.

“Bedford are in our league, they’re a bit of a bogey team for us and it’s never an easy game, plus we’ve got them next week in the league as well.

“We’ve only lost once in the league this season, so we’re doing alright. We’re still up there as one of the promotion favourites, but there are a couple of teams that will take points off the top teams. It’s a bit like the conference in that only one team gets promoted and it’s a really difficult league to get out of – if you lose a couple of games on the bounce, then there’s a strong chance you won’t get promoted.

“There’s a lot of Luton based ladies in the team who support the Hatters, quite a few of us will be going to the Leeds game. It’s a good chance for supporters who often go and support the men’s team to come and support the ladies on Sunday. Both teams on Sunday are of good quality and there will be a lot of Luton based talent.”

WHEN AND WHERE?

Kick-off is 2pm at the Brache on Sunday 17th November.
