Under the watchful eye of coach Dan Walder, a young Hatters side beat Forest Green Rovers in the Central League fixture held at the Brache yesterday.

Josh Boorn have the Town the lead midway through the half, with a composed finish on 22 minutes, before Drew Richardson calmly placed a side-foot volley into the bottom corner just before the half-hour mark.

Then, six minutes into the second half, Jonas Kalonda scored the goal of the game, matching onto a loose pass just inside the Rovers half, cutting in from the right wing and curling a beauty into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Harry Isted and Arthur Read were the only professionals to be involved, with the line-up as follows:

TOWN: Isted, Jones, Panter, Beckwith, J Newton, Wan, Richardson, Read, Kalonda, Boorn, Nicolson. Subs: Byron, Horlick, Francis, McJannet.

Goals: Boorn 22, Richardson 28, Kalonda 51
