Glen Rea will captain the Hatters in the Carabao Cup first round tie at West Brom tonight as manager Nathan Jones names a side with eight changes from Saturday’s League One draw with Sunderland.

And there is great news for Town fans on the bench, where Luke Berry makes his return to the teamsheet for the first time since suffering a dislocated ankle and broken fibula at Colchester on Good Friday.

Coming into the team from Saturday are goalkeeper James Shea, full-back James Justin, centre-half Sonny Bradley, Rea, Luke Gambin and Andrew Shinnie in midfield, with Harry Cornick and Jake Jervis up front.

Joining Berry on the bench are goalkeeper Marek Stech, Elliot Lee, James Collins, Jack Senior, Lloyd Jones and Arthur Read.

If the scores are level at 90 minutes tonight, under new competition rules there will be no period of extra-time. The tie will go straight to penalties under the traditional ABAB format, following last season’s trial with ABBA in EFL competitions.

TOWN: Shea, Stacey, Pearson, Bradley, Justin, Rea, Mpanzu, Gambin, Shinnie, Cornick, Jervis. Subs: Berry, Lee, Collins, Senior, Jones, Read, Stech (GK)

REFEREE: Robert Jones
