Boss focused ahead of Easter Monday clash

Nathan Jones says he isn’t looking at anything else but Barnet as the Town prepare for their Easter Monday clash at the Hive.

The Hatters lie seven points off the top seven after the round of Good Friday fixtures in which Jones’s side were without a match following the postponement of the Dagenham game.

And although the Town head to North London having won five of their last six matches, Jones isn’t getting too carried away.

“We’ve got two eyes on Barnet, so if I had three eyes I’d have one eye on the Play-Offs, but we’ve got two eyes on Barnet, that’s it, literally.

“I know it’s clichéd but we keep saying it, it’s boring I know, not what you want to here, but it’s true.

“We’re not looking at the Play-Offs because so many teams are looking at that type of thing. All we have to do is keep concentrating on ourselves, preparing a team to win a game and that’s what we’ll do.”

Unlike the Town, Barnet did have a game on Good Friday - a long trip to Devon in which they drew 1-1 with Exeter.

So will the Hatters have an advantage having had a rest?

“You can’t fathom it, they might be in rhythm after playing, or good form, or good spirits, you just don’t know,” said Jones.

“All we can to do is to prepare our team to play Barnet as best we can and maybe we’re fresher maybe we’re not, maybe we’ll be rusty, I’m sure we’ll find out 5 o’clock on Monday.”
