Hatters return to Kenilworth Road to face gaffer's old club

Tomorrow afternoon sees the Hatters return to Kenilworth Road for the first time since May when Sky Bet Championship club Brighton & Hove Albion are the visitors for an earlier than normal kick-off of 2pm.

The Seagulls finished third in the second tier last season, a significant improvement on their relegation battle of the year before, and will be hoping to secure Premier League football for the first time in the ten months ahead.

Supporters of the Sussex club travelling north for the game will have more than a passing interest in what they see in the Hatters team too, of course, with their goalkeeper Christian Walton having joined us on a season-long loan this summer and midfielder Glen Rea signing for the Town on a permanent deal after his successful loan spell last term.

There is also the connection we have through our manager, Nathan Jones, who last January left his role as first-team coach at the club for whom he also played – helping them win promotions from what is now League Two to the Championship – to join the Hatters.

In his notes for tomorrow’s matchday programme, Talk Of The Town, Jones wrote: “I’m really looking forward to welcoming my good friend Chris Hughton, a vastly experienced manager whose brain I pick as often as I can.

“Brighton is a club that is firmly in my heart. I played for them for five years and then went back there as a coach for another two-and-a-half years, so I’ve got a lot of good friends there and it will be great to see them.”

Cash turnstiles will be available on tomorrow’s fixture at all areas of the ground for tomorrow’s fixture.

Prices are: £12 - Adults
£6 - Under-22s and 65-plus.
Free - Accompanied Under-10s (max 3 per purchased ticket)

However, to benefit from the discounted price for purchasing tickets for both the Brighton game and next Saturday’s match against Walsall, supporters must purchase from the Ticket Office before kick-off tomorrow.

The joint prices are £20 for adults and £10 for Under-22s and spectators aged 65-plus, working out at £10 and £5 per match respectively.

If you are unable to attend tomorrow's game, we’ll be tweeting live updates of the action and posting a match report, picture gallery and manager/player interviews on lutontown.co.uk after the final whistle.

Once again, a reminder that the kick-off is 2pm. We look forward to seeing you here at Kenilworth Road!

*We would also like to remind supporters that tickets are on general sale for the EFL Cup first round tie against Aston Villa on Wednesday 10th August. Diamond Season Ticket holders can take advantage of a free ticket to this fixture as one of their Diamond benefits. To take up this complimentary ticket offer, please contact the Ticket Office on 01582 416976 to book it.

*Tomorrow's edition of Talk Of The Town, which also covers next week's game against Walsall, is now available to pre-oder via Hatters World
