Lawless and Okuonghae on a week under Nathan Jones

Hatters duo Alex Lawless and Magnus Okuonghae revealed their enthusiasm for new manager Nathan Jones after the boss’s first game in charge against Cambridge on Saturday.

The pair completed 90 minutes in the goalless draw against United and Welshman Lawless, who has now played under five different Town managers, told Hatters Player: “It’s been great. The direction he has given us has been really good and I’m looking forward to getting more and more of it.

“Everyone’s got a point to prove because everyone wants to play.

“Training’s been challenging; we’ve had to think a lot and take a lot of information in – but they’re the kind of logical things you want to listen to.”

Centre-half Okuonghae added: “Obviously the freshness of a new manager gives you impetus but the sessions have been good; there’s been a lot of energy and they’ve been fun.

“He’s got some pre-requisites that won’t be changed – and that’s good because everyone knows 100 per cent what they’ve got to do.

“And we got a clean sheet because of those.”
