Both teams fielding U16 sides in youth fixture
Today the Hatters faced an under 16 side at Southend in the latest Youth Alliance South East line fixture. Both teams fielded Under 16 sides, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.
Southend benefited from a 47th minute handball from Hatters. The referee awarded a penalty to Southend and they converted making it 1-0 to the home side.
Then in the 71st minute Arthur Read's free-kick settled the scores for the Hatters.
Town were then denied a late goal when Southend keeper Bishop made a double save from Connor Tomlinson.
