MAD HATTER DEAN BOXING FOR CHUMS

2 April 2016

Sponsored by

Dean Snaith raising money for Club charity of the year

Tonight's the night for Hatters fan Dean Snaith as he takes to the ring in Luton to raise money for CHUMS. The fight is part of the UWCB fight night held around the country and is taking place at The Auction House in Crescent Road. It's the second time the Luton-based boxer has taken part - with his first campaign helping to raise £500 for Cancer Research UK, the UWCB's official partner.

We spoke to Dean about his fight, and his motivations for supporting CHUMS

"The reason I got involved with CHUMS is that my nephew's best friend Ben sadly died about 14 months ago from cardiac arrest at a young age of 14.It was a shock to all his family and friends, last year I organised a benefit night in Ben's name which included various stalls, a disco with a big auction and a raffle raising nearly £6000 which helped install a seat in the garden of remembrance and to pay for Ben's head stone. The family also made a donation to CRY.

When I decided to box again I wanted to support something different and asked Ben's mum and family and they suggested CHUMS for the support they have given Ben's Younger brother through such a tough time.

I am a Father myself with 3 young children, so giving something back to a young person’s charity was an easy choice."

Tickets for tonight's contest is now sold out - but if you'd like to get behind Dean's fundraising and help support CHUMS - you can donate via his just giving page

GOOD LUCK DEAN!
