Captain's thoughts on Town first season back among the 92

Skipper Stephen McNulty has urged the Hatters faithful to stick with the side next season after their first campaign back in the Football League ended with an eighth place finish at the weekend.

In the end just three points separated the Town from a place in the Play-Offs in a season that promised so much, but the captain is confident that learning from the past nine months will stand the Hatters in good stead next term.

“It’s been a long and eventful season to say the least but we’ve got to look back on it as a whole and take the positives,” McNulty told Hatters Player. “It was our first season back in the League and we will come back better and stronger next season, regroup and go again.

“The fans have stuck with us all season. Even when we went on that terrible run we were still taking numbers away from home wherever we went and getting 8,500 crowds at home.

“Words don’t do them justice. All I say to them is this rollercoaster ride isn’t over yet.”
