THANK YOU LETTER FROM A HORNET

Dear everyone at Luton Town Football Club and all Hatter fans,

on Good Friday, I had the pleasure of being a guest at Kenilworth Road for the Exeter game and some of you may remember that I ran a lap of the pitch at half time to promote my fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  This followed a friend's challenge for me to wear the Luton Town home shirt when running in this year's London Marathon.

Being a Watford for over 30 years, it was somewhat daunting to wear 'the orange' instead of 'the yellow' and I was a little apprehensive before embarking on the run.  However, it was good to set aside rivalries for the day and the reception from all supporters was fantastic. A special mention goes to all the mini-hatters for the high-fives on the way round.

Well, the day of reckoning soon came around and I'm pleased to say that I completed the marathon in just over 6hr 42m - not a great time but its an experience that I'll never forget.  I really struggled between 15-20 miles but the support from the crowds was excellent, and I did try to acknowledge all cries of 'cmon Luton', 'cmon Easyjet' or 'secret Hatter' on my way round.  But what's incredible and overwhelming is the level of support you have all given - to date, you've contributed almost £800 via my fundraising website.   Both my wife and 5yr old son have the CF condition and your contributions really do make a difference in funding the search for a cure.

So, on a finishing note, may I take this opportunity to thank you all once again and wish you all the very best for the future. I sincerely hope to see you all again following your impending rise up the leagues - after all, playing each other is what rivalries are for!

With kind regards
Terry Wesley
