Boss asks for focus on three points

John Still is urging the 1,200-strong travelling Town support at Cheltenham to get behind his side instead of focusing their attention on ex-boss Paul Buckle.

The Hatters make the journey to Whaddon Road unbeaten in five League 2 matches for what will be the Town’s first meeting against a side managed by Buckle, who left Kenilworth Road for America in February 2013.

“When you play, like we did with Cambridge, with former managers, this is a football match and for me that’s all it is,” said Still at his press call on Thursday. “There’s no one-upmanship, it’s just points and as far as I’m concerned that’s the only focus we have.

“Our support is always fantastic, they get behind their team 100 per cent as they always do. It’ll make a massive difference regardless of any situation, if the supporters get behind your team to win that’s the best thing that can happen.

“I understand this is football and there’s a lot of mickey taking and lots of banter and everything. I understand that and wouldn't advocate stopping that, but come to support your team first.”
