Boss on selection for FA Cup tie with Newport

Hatters manager John Still says he will not be making drastic changes to his side for Saturday's FA Cup first round tie against Newport County.

The boss said that Alex Lawless and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu are likely to remain out for the clash against the Exiles at Kenilworth Road, as will defenders Curtley Williams and Paul Connolly.

Unlike last season, where Still made a number of changes for the first round tie at Welling - that ended in a 2-1 defeat - that won't the be the case this time round against County.

"We're a year on from that now," explained Still. "At the time we were still finding out how to play with one another. I picked that team because I thought it could win, but it didn't.

"There won't be drastic changes on Saturday, there maybe or two, but it won't be as if we'll make so many that people sit up and say 'wow, he's made a lot of changes'.

"It's the greatest cup competition in the world and like any club left in the competition we want to go as far as we can."
