Striker faces spell on the sidelines

The Club can confirm that striker Paul Benson has broken a bone in his left leg, sustained in the first half of Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Mansfield Town.

Benson and the Hatters medical staff were initially told that x-rays revealed no break. However that report later turned out to be inaccurate as the forward, who opened the scoring against the Stags, was later told on Saturday evening that there was indeed a fracture.

All at Kenilworth Road would like to wish Paul a speedy recover in his bid to return to full fitness.

Benson will join Alex Lawless and Luke Guttridge on the sidelines. Lawless has chipped a bone in his foot, whilst manager John Still revealed on Saturday that Guttridge has picked up a recurrence of the injury that the midfielder sustained last season.
