Manager hoping to rekindle Pelly loan interest

Town boss John Still hasn’t ruled out re-signing loan star Pelly Ruddock.

The West Ham midfield shone for the Hatters in a month-long loan spell before being recalled the Hammers.

The 20-year-old sustained an injury in his final appearance for the Town, the 6-0 win over Kidderminster, but since his departure Still has moved to sign Kane Ferdinand and Cameron McGeehan to bolster his midfield options.

But the Hatters manager admitted he will definitely be inquiring into Ruddock’s availability once the midfielder has returned to full fitness.

“Pelly’s not fit yet, but once he is fit, we will be asking that question, without a doubt,” Still said at his Thursday press conference.

“We have a good relationship with West Ham and when he’s fit, we’ll ask the question.

“Until then we’ll wait until he’s fit, so what are we going to do? We’ll wait until he’s fit.

“We’ll know when he is, so we’ll ask the question then as they’re aware that we still have an interest in him.

“Pelly did great for us here and if he comes back it won’t be fair on him if he’s not quite right, so we’ll just sit back and wait until he’s had a couple of games and feels like he’s ready to compete.”
