Smith back from suspension for Sandgrounders
Town boss John Still welcomes back midfielder Jonathan Smith back from suspension for Tuesday night's game with Southport at Kenilworth Road.Smith sat out Saturday's 2-1 win over Welling after picking up five bookings but is in line for a return against the struggling Sandgrounders.
The manager explained that there are a few "bumps and bruises" in the squad - most notably defender Steve McNulty who had eight stitches in a head wound on Saturday. He'll be fine for Tuesday night.
In other news, striker Jon Shaw has resumed light training as he continues to recover from a calf injury, whilst midfielder Solomon Taiwo will undergo an operation on a hernia.
