New signing could be given chance at Aggborough
Loan signing Paul Benson is "in contention" to be included in the Hatters' squad to face Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday. The 33-year-old is lacking match fitness having been frozen out of parent club Swindon Town's plans, but with Jon Shaw facing a hernia operation and Mark Cullen and Alex Wall not 100 per cent fit the striker could feature against Harriers at Aggborough according to manager John Still.
"I know Paul and he's a fit lad," said Still. "He's in contention. But it's up to Paul and his fitness."
Shaw could be on the sidelines for up to six weeks. "It could be more, it could be less," said Still at his press conference on Thursday afternoon. "I don't like to put timescales on it because I've had players who have returned in a few weeks and I've had players who have come back over six weeks."
The boss confirmed that Solomon Taiwo and Wall have trained, but midfielder Alex Lawless remains "sore" with a groin problem and will be struggling to be involved at the weekend.
Anthony Charles remains the Town's other injury concern, but the centre-half remains several weeks away from a full return with a shoulder injury.
