Can our tipster strike again at Alfreton?

Followers of this column were rewarded on Tuesday night when several of our recommendations came in following the Town’s 3-2 victory over Cambridge United.

If the 7/1 about the Hatters losing any-time before going on to win wasn’t good enough, Cambridge’s second goal two minutes from time enabled our 3-2 correct score to land the odds a tasty 25/1.

We also mentioned that it would be wise to back three of the Town centre-halves to score at fancy each-way prices and Janos Kovacs and Dean Beckwith duly obliged.

On Saturday the Hatters head to Alfreton looking to continue their 100 per cent winning record away from Kenilworth Road.

The Town are odds on at 8/13 with league sponsors Blue Square to earn all three points. Nicky Law’s side are fresh from a confidence-boosting win at Lincoln in midweek and are 18/5 to end the Hatters’ winning run. The draw can be backed at 11/4.

Last season the Town could only score once in 180 minutes of football against the Reds, but didn’t concede any. It’s 3/1 that either none or one goal is scored in the game and it’s 12/1 that the game ends goalless.

But the Hatters are a different proposition these days and are the league’s top goalscorers with 16 goals.

Stuart Fleetwood has been the Town’s main source of those with seven strikes so far this term but he’s already been flagged by the bookies as the favourite and at 16/5 to score first value lies elsewhere.

Andre Gray has notched twice in as many games and was on red-hot form in Tuesday’s victory over Cambridge and the 5/1 offered is not to be sniffed at.

At bigger prices it’s hard to ignore the 18/1 about Jake Howells who after the game jets off to the Czech Republic to join up with the Welsh Under-21 squad.

Alfreton have a habit of conceding goals and Law’s side have already conceded nine goals in their first three home games this season. They were also hammered 5-1 at Dartford.

The Hatters though have only kept one clean sheet this season themselves so we’re going to side with the 22/1 that the Town win 4-1.

Remember, betting through Blue Square helps the Hatters and all the clubs in the division so what are you waiting for?

Recommendations:
Andre Gray first goal 5/1
Luton to win 4-1 22/1
Jake Howells to score first goal 18/1 (each-way)

Our tipster is showing a +£17 profit (to a £1 level stake) on his selections this season.
