New signing named as skipper

Ronnie Henry has been named as the Hatters' new captain.

Town boss Paul Buckle officially revealed the news on Monday afternoon.

28-year-old Henry has previously been captain of former club Stevenage and his pre-season form has already impressed his new boss.

Buckle told lutontown.co.uk: "It has been evident in all of our pre-season games where Ronnie has featured that he is a leader.

"He is a determined, vocal character and someone who really inspires those around him.

"We're lucky to have him here, I'm delighted that he is and to be able to have a player like him as a captain is a huge bonus.

"His organisation skills are helping others around him and the fact he's won two promotions in two of the last three seasons speaks volumes."

You'll be able to read Ronnie's first programme notes as captain in Saturday's new issue of Talk of the Town.
