The Hatters welcome Swansea City to Kenilworth Road tomorrow afternoon as Graeme Jones’ side look to make it three consecutive home Sky Bet Championship victories.

After suffering a 2-1 defeat away at Preston North End, Town remain in 21^st place – two points above the relegation zone. Victory against the Swans could see the Hatters move up into 19^th position.

Swansea won for the first time in six games after beating Middlesbrough 3-1 last weekend and another three points could see them move back into the play-off places.

On player availability: “He’s (Jacob Butterfield) fine. He had two dead legs, he got a dead leg before half-time and a dead leg after half-time. He’s absolutely fine, he’s trained all week and credit to him he was out on the training ground on Monday and he’s shown a desire to play, so really pleased.”

On Dan Potts and Martin Cranie: “Not far away now, not far away. I mean obviously we have to navigate five games in 14 days, it’s not just four in 11 or 12, there is a game in the cup against Bournemouth, so I don’t want to take huge chances with them. If we needed to, tomorrow would be a gamble but obviously we’ve got a busy period coming up, we are going to need everybody.”

On his time with Swansea: "It was 2007, just really fond memories – that was the start of our coaching career. We took on a wonderful football club who had been in the doldrums for a while and gave them a pattern of play in League One that I think stood them in good stead for ten years.

“They’ve reverted back to that with their last two appointments of Graham Potter and Steve Cooper. So, I think it’s a style that has worked for them through the years and I think that’s what we can expect tomorrow.”

On Andre Ayew: “He was only 20 million! We’ve got to deal with him and he’s a powerful player – he hits the target, he scores goal. But it’s about us, we want to impose ourselves in the game both on and off the ball and that’s what I expect us to do.

On Steve Cooper: “I have heard of him and you can see his method work in their play. He’s intelligent. I don’t know Steve personally – hopefully I will have a drink with him after the game tomorrow, but I love how his team plays that’s for sure. It’ll be a difficult game.”

Who?

Swansea have been particularly successful over the last decade, notably when they won the Football League Cup in 2013. They gained promotion into the Premier League the year prior and managed seven seasons in the top-flight, before being relegated in 2018.

It was over 11 years ago since the last game between the two sides and Swansea ran out the victors 1-0 in a third tier meeting. However since the first match in 1920, Luton have the superior head-to-head record with 21 wins whereas Swansea have 18 wins. There have been 11 draws of which only two have been 0-0 stalemates.
