Off to Ewood on Saturday

Our official match preview for Blackburn away

ewood

Luton Town are back on the road on Saturday as we head north to take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the Sky Bet Championship (3pm GMT).

The Hatters will be looking to build on Tuesday night’s last gasp win as we beat Stoke City with a 90th minute winner from Elijah Adebayo.

John Eustace’s Rovers have won all five of their last five league games, only conceding once in the process.

The opposition

Appointed in February, John Eustace led the Rovers to survival last season, securing their fortunes on the final day, when they beat Leicester City 2-0 away from home.

Blackburn currently sit fifth in the Championship table having won ten, drawn four and lost five of their nineteen games so far this season.

Rovers have recently defeated play-off hopefuls Leeds United and Middlesbrough before beating Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Tuesday, with Senegalese striker Makhtar Gueye scoring the only goal of the game.

How to follow live

There are multiple ways to watch, listen or follow all the action from Ewood Park.

If are following from overseas, you can watch the game live on LTFC+.

Not at Ewood Park and not based abroad? You can still listen to the match live with Simon Pitts or follow game updates on our dedicated Match Centre, which will appear on the website and app home page in the build-up to kick-off.

Last time out

We returned to winning ways on Tuesday night as we left it late to beat Stoke City 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.

The visitors opened the scoring early courtesy of Tom Cannon in the sixth minute before Carlton Morris headed us level going into half-time.

Town continued to pile on pressure throughout the latter stages and in the 90th minute, Elijah Adebayo made the magic touch and turned in the winner.

Last time we met

The points were shared in a 1-1 draw last time we visited Lancashire in May 2023.

Tom Lockyer’s header in the 50th minute was not enough for the Hatters to get all three points, with Hayden Carter equalising four minutes from time.

Officials

The referee for our fixture against Blackburn will be Michael Salisbury.

28 yellow cards and two red cards have been handed out by Salisbury across his eight games this season, three of which have been in the top-flight.

Our last fixture with Salisbury in the middle was at Craven Cottage against Fulham in the Premier League in September 2023.
