The Hatters Under-18s maintained their position at the top of the Youth Alliance with a comfortable 5-1 win over Northampton on Saturday.
After seeing off the Cobblers in the week leading up to game, Joe Deeney’s side were 4-0 to the good by half-time.
Charlie Emery put the Town in front after six minutes, converting from close range after his back-post effort was initially saved by the Northampton goalkeeper.
As the Town continued to press, Emery hit the post three minutes later and on 11 minutes it was 2-0 when Tate Xavier-Jones found the net with a fine strike from the edge of the box.
Christian Chigozie saw a header harshly ruled out on 18 minutes but on 36 minutes the Hatters hit their third when Dylan Stitt slid in Zach Ioannides to finish smartly.
The chances kept coming and six minutes before the break Jamie Odegah and Stitt combined to feed Benny Benagr and he lifted a finish over the keeper it make it 4-0.
Opportunities for a fifth went begging before half-time and after the restart Northampton pulled a goal back when a shot from distance flew past Cai Hockey.
But back came the Town, only a combination of good defending and wasteful finishing preventing a fifth goal.
However, in the final minute, the Hatters did find number five when Charlie Trustram rifled a free-kick into the bottom corner to deal a fifth league win in a row.
The youngsters next face Hull in the PDL Cup on Tuesday before heading to Gillingham in the Youth Alliance on Saturday.
