The short trip to Stevenage

Our official match preview for our visit to Lamex Stadium

Lamex Stadium

Luton Town’s three-game week concludes with a visit to Lamex Stadium to face high-flying Stevenage (Saturday, 3pm).

Matt Bloomfield’s Hatters grabbed a late point at Blackpool during midweek after starting the three-game week with victory against Doncaster Rovers at Kenilworth Road.

Alex Revell’s side have made a fast start to the season, occupying second place in League one going into the weekend.

The opposition

Stevenage have blown pre-season expectations out of the water with a tremendous start to the 25/26 campaign.

Saturday’s hosts have won all four of their games at Lamex Stadium so far, conceding just once in those four wins.

The Boro’s man in form is Harvey White (pictured), who has three goals and three assists in his last four game in all competitions.

Team news

Defenders Teden Mengi and Nigel Lonwijk are back in contention, while striker Jerry Yates is available after completing concussion protocols that saw him substituted at Lincoln City two weeks ago.

What the managers say

Matt Bloomfield

“I think we’ve showed some really good moments during the season but also shown some poor moments.

“We need to keep getting at the good stuff and bring up the stuff we aren’t good at to gain some consistency because at times we’ve put on good performances and then dropped off a little bit before fighting back, so we need to go after that consistency.”

Alex Revell

“It’s great to have everybody with us. I think the performances from the players since the start of the season have deserved this game to be what it is [a sell-out].

“We’re really looking forward to it; we’ve had a good week. We know it’s going to be a really tough game; Luton are a top team that will definitely be up there at the end of the season.

“Luton will have full support, and we need the Lamex to be nice and loud from our side and we continue our form at home, making sure it’s a fortress on Saturday.”
