Oak Road closure on Saturday

Road closure: Important supporter information ahead of Saturday's derby

kr

We would like to give our supporters advance warning of the impact that the closure of Oak Road for the arrival and exit of Watford fans’ coaches will have on your normal routine this Saturday.

Watford supporters attending the derby at Kenilworth Road will be arriving on coaches having had to collect their tickets and board their transport at Vicarage Road.

There will be a police cordon at the top and bottom of Oak Road, meaning that Beech Path (between the intersections with Ash Road and Beech Road only) will also be closed to Luton Town supporters who would usually use that route to reach the Kenilworth Road end of the ground; the red area in the below:

The Ticket Office at the top of Oak Road will still be open to Home fans for ticket queries only and can be accessed from Maple Road East. All collections will be located at the Match day Ticket Office on Kenilworth Road from 10am; unless we are advised otherwise by 9am Saturday. Beech Road and Ivy Road will also be open for access to the Bobbers Stand.

As a result, we strongly urge Hatters fans who usually park in Beech Hill Primary School, the Farley Hill and Dallow Road areas, and those who use the Busway stop on Clifton Road, to please allow extra time to seek an alternative route around the stadium or a different parking location.

Please be prepared that could involve walking down Ash Road to join Dunstable Road, then along the high street to reach Beech Road, where you will be able to walk up and access Beech Path, or keep going to Kenilworth Road and up to the stadium. The dotted route in the above.

Anyone who would usually travel up on the busway from the town centre may wish to walk directly to the Kenilworth Road side of the stadium, rather than take that alternative route.

Similarly, passengers coming from the direction of Dunstable may wish to stay on the bus all the way to the Town Centre, then walk to the stadium from there.

Please be mindful of the fact that police will be managing traffic to allow for the visiting coaches to continue their journey to Oak Road, so driving in and around Bury Park may take longer than would usually be the case.

After the match, the Oak Road and Beech Path closures will remain in place until all of the Watford supporters coached have departed.

Together with Bedfordshire Police we apologise for any inconvenience caused to our supporters’ usual matchday routine but Luton Town Football Club are committed to ensuring a safe matchday experience for all spectators and thank you for your understanding.
