The Town will welcome back Carlton Morris to the squad for Saturday’s derby at Kenilworth Road.

The striker has been missing since scoring twice in the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday a month ago but having trained all week the 28-year-old is in contention to feature this weekend.

However, Rob Edwards admitted the Town have a mixed two weeks following the international break with injuries to three defenders.

Teden Mengi, Reuell Walters and Mark McGuinness all picked up knocks while away with England and the Republic of Ireland.

“We’ve got to deal with it,” the manager said at his Friday press conference. “It’s a massive game and we’ve just got to deal with it.

“Teden’s pulled his calf; Reuell’s broken his foot and we’ll give Macca as much time as possible [for Saturday]. He hasn’t trained yet so we’ll see.”

The Hatters will continue to be without the services of Amari’i Bell, Mads Andersen and the suspended Liam Walsh, who serves the second match of a three-game ban.

The boss confirmed that Daiki Hashioka is also in contention for selection after recovering from a calf injury sustained in pre-season.

“He’s had a difficult run since coming into a difficult run of games last season,” said Edwards. “He’s played out of position for much of that time and given us everything. So it’s a plus for us with him coming back.”
