Ladies looking for the double

Free entry for fans at The Eyrie for the League Cup final against Stevenage this Sunday

The Luton Ladies pointing their index finger in the air after winning the league at St Albans.

Luton Town Ladies will be looking to complete the double when we face Stevenage Women in the League Cup final at The Eyrie Stadium (Sunday, 3pm).

The Town lifted the ERWFL Premier Division title and capped off their home campaign in style with an 8-1 victory over Needham Market last weekend, confirming an unbeaten home league campaign for the second consecutive season.

Our Ladies need your support in Bedford and you can watch the league champions for free as we look to add another trophy to an already historic season.

The opposition

Sunday will be no easy task. Stevenage, who are currently placed third in the league table, defeated Luton last month.

Stevenage are on a remarkable run of form themselves, losing once over their last 26 matches. Their one defeat came in the Hertfordshire County Cup final against Royston Town, although Luton did knock the Boro out of the Women’s FA Cup on penalties during this run.

Road to the final

The league champions entered the League Cup in the second round defeating Hertford Town 5-0, courtesy of a Tasha Fensome brace and goals from Gabriella Spillman, Cesca Partridge and Shianne Swarres.

The third round saw the Ladies kick off 2025 with a win over Watford Ladies – Jess McKay’s second half strike was enough to seal the victory.

The Ladies ran rampant in the quarter-final with a 9-0 victory over Real Bedford Reserves to clinch a semi-final spot. A hat-trick from Tsaianne Leander, two from Fensome and goals from McKay, Elly Wade, Shanice Lewis and Caitlin O’Connor.

The semi-final game was one to remember. In front of a packed-out Sharpenhoe Road, we took on title rivals Royston Town. Leyah Maddix had the Hatters 1-0 up within 60 seconds, but the Hatters were pegged back later in the first half and went into half-time level. Neither side failed to capitalise on their chances in the second half and the game went to extra-time. With penalties looming, Fiona Buttigieg fired us into the lead with five minutes to go before Leander confirmed our spot on the final by adding a third in the final minute.

We hope to see a big crowd at The Eyrie on Sunday – COYH!
