The Hatters Ladies aim to bounce back from consecutive defeats when they host league leaders Fulham at Barton on Sunday.
Last time out the Ladies were edged out 1-0 at Chatham Town and, although it was not the result the Town would’ve wanted, their frontline was bolstered by the debut of Amy McLean, who has been sat on the sidelines since suffering an injury in pre-season.
Sunday sees the Ladies return to league action at Sharpenhoe Road for the first time since their 1-0 defeat to London Bees three weeks ago.
However, it won’t be an easy task as they face a Fulham side who haven’t lost a league fixture in their last 35 matches over the last 20 months.
The opposition
Out of their 35-game unbeaten streak in league fixtures, the West London side have won 32.
Fulham, managed by Steve Jay, are the early pace setters in the WNL Division One South East, having won nine out of their 10 league games, with their only dropped points of the season coming in a 1-1 draw against QPR.
The Cottagers earned promotion from tier-five last season, going unbeaten and scoring 93 goals.
Words from the boss
The Ladies’ boss, Myles Maddix, gave his thoughts ahead of Sunday’s clash at Barton:
He said: “We will attack it with the same mentality that we have for other games. We have been competing in games, we have been working really hard.
“Back at Barton, we know what life is like at the Clay, we’re quite formidable there, we play well there. We’ve had quite a few road trips as of late, so it’ll be nice to be back at Barton, for the last time in 2025.
“Can we get a win against the league leaders? You never know. We will always be competitive, we always give it our best and that’s what we’ll try and do, and hopefully we manage to pick up some points.”
Back the Town at Barton
