Matt Bloomfield’s Hatters will continue to build on the momentum gathered winning our first two games in League One.

The newly-promoted Bantams have also started the season unbeaten, opening their campaign with a home win against Wycombe Wanderers.

What the managers say

Matt Bloomfield

“They’ve come up, won their first home game of the season and won in the cup; they’re a solid team. They all know their jobs, they’re well-drilled, and they will put us under pressure, so it will be a tough game.

“They’ve got some sturdy characters who have been around the game and know what it’s all about, so we know what to expect. It’ll be a good atmosphere, too, so we’re looking forward to it.”

Graham Alexander

“We have made good strides already, especially with half of the squad being new.

“The way they have come together so quickly, taken ideas from the training pitch into games, and shown progress in such a short space of time has been really pleasing. But we are not the finished article, and we know there is still room for improvement.

“This is why the English pyramid here is the best in the world. Clubs can rise quickly, as Luton have, but you can also go the other way just as fast.

“It is exciting to be going up against a side who have recently played in the Premier League, and we will approach it with no fear.”

The opposition

Bradford have made an almost perfect return to League One, accumulating four points from their first two games after six seasons away from the third tier.

Two goals in the first 13 minutes of the new season put the Bantams in dreamland on the opening day against Wycombe before they had to settle for a draw at Northampton last weekend.

The Bantams had their confidence boosted further on Tuesday when they claimed a Championship scalp in the Carabao Cup, knocking Blackburn Rovers out at Ewood Park with another quick-fire double inside four minutes of kick-off.

Team news

Reuell Walters (groin) and Christ Makosso (suspended) will both be unavailable for this fixture, while Izzy Jones remains out with a fractured bone in his back.

Christ will be serving the second of his three-game ban and will be available for selection against Cardiff next weekend, while Walters is expected to be out for two to three weeks.
