As we entered the first weekend of February, the academy boys continued to make appearances for their loan clubs

After a little injury lay off, Oli Lynch came back with a bang for Tamworth as he came off the bench to score an equalizer for the Lambs as they drew with Morecambe.

After his loan announcement was made prior to their game, Taylan Harris made his debut from the off for Braintree Town in their 1-1 draw with Sutton United.

Josh Phillips started once more for Bedford Town but the team that play at the New Eyrie fell to a 2-1 to Chester.

Striker Tate Xavier-Jones came off the bench for Merthyr Town when they were drawing 2-2 with Chorley but the Welsh highflyers in National League North conceded a last-minute goal to end up losing 3-2.

Henry Blackledge started again for Gosport Borough in between the sticks as Gosport drew 2-2 with Chertsey Town.

Jack Lorentzen-Jones started another game for Hemel Hempstead, but they fell to a 3-0 defeat at home to Hampton and Richmond.

It was not just the academy lads who made appearances out on loan, many of the senior players played for their loan clubs in the first game week after the January transfer window.

Lasse Nordas took his appearance total up to five for Eredivisie side Heerenveen as the Dutch side lost 5-0 against European chasers FC Twente. A few days later, Lasse registered his first two goals at his loan club as his brace helped Heerenveen beat Go Ahead Eagles 3-1.

Ethon Archer scored a magnificent free kick as Port Vale drew 2-2 with fellow relegation threatened side Burton Albion.

Cauley Woodrow scored a goal and provided an assist as Wycombe beat a struggling Doncaster side 4-0. Reuell Walters made his debut for Blackpool against Huddersfield where he provided an assist as the Seasiders drew 2-2.

Jacob Brown also made his debut for Portsmouth in the Championship alongside fellow Luton loanee Millenic Alli, but Pompey lost 1-0 at Preston.

Jerry Yates started for a third successive game for Championship bottom club Sheffield Wednesday, but the Owls were hammered 4-0 by Swansea.

Christ Makosso got two more starts for Oxford as he was an integral part in their defence that kept a clean sheet against then Championship table toppers Coventry City. His third successive start came against a resurgent Norwich side but on this occasion, the Canaries beat the U’s 3-0.

Joe Gbode started for the second time at Woking as the Cards beat Truro City 2-0 away from home. Finally, Zack Nelson came off the bench for his fourth appearance as an AFC Wimbledon player as the Dons beat Reading 3-2.
