Taking a look around the grounds to find out how our academy superstars are getting on in their respective loan deals
Jamie Odegah
In the midweek of the round-up for our Hatters out on loan, we’ll see how some of the academy players are getting on with their respective clubs in non-league.
In his first appearance Jamie Odegah scored his first goal in senior football which turned out to be the winner for Chelmsford City in their National League South triumph over Horsham.
To follow on from his first senior goal, Odegah started his second game in three days following the 80 minutes played against Tonbridge for Chelmsford in the National League South in a 1-0 win for the Clarets.
The victory marked a third successive win for the NLS side, leaving them in 10th place.
Oli Lynch
In the National League, striker Oli Lynch started for Tamworth in their defeat to Sutton United and got 78 minutes under his belt.
Lynch completed 90 minutes for the Lambs as they progressed through to the semi-final of the National League Cup, courtesy of a 1-0 win over Halifax midweek.
In the league, Tamworth currently find themselves in 13th place and Oli has eight goals for the club.
Josh Phillips
Local side Bedford Town have Town loanee Josh Phillips on their books and Phillips started for the Eagles in their 2-1 win over Alfreton Town.
Meanwhile, Phillips came off the bench in the 64th minute for Bedford in their 0-0 draw against Kidderminster Harriers in midweek.
Phillips, who had his loan extended for a fourth consecutive month, currently has seven goal contributions for The New Eyrie based side, having scored twice and set up five in 19 appearances for the Eagles this season.
Tate Xavier Jones
Striker Tate Xavier-Jones started for Bedford’s high flying divisional rivals Merthyr Town, but the Welsh outfit lost 1-0 to Southport.
Tate also played 45 minutes mid-week in the sides 4-1 defeat against an in-form Telford side.
Having spent time away from the Hatters in the Scottish Championship with Airdrieonians, the young forward joined the NLN side in early January and currently has a singular assist in four games, with Merthyr currently sitting third in the National League North table.
Charlie Trustram and Jack Lorentzen-Jones
Elsewhere in National League South, Jack Lorentzen-Jones provided the assist for Hemel Hempstead’s winning goal against Maidstone United.
You can watch Jack’s free-kick which supplied striker Millar Matthews-Jones’ acrobatic finish below.
Charlie Trustram and Lorentzen-Jones did not feature for their respective loan sides midweek, with Trustram not in the squad and JJ’s Hemel Hempstead side having their game abandoned with Weston-Super-Mare.
However, both players did make appearances for the U21s in their Beds Senior Cup quarter-final tie against Leighton Town, succumbing to a 3-1 defeat in Leighton Buzzard.
Henry Blackledge
Further down from the National League North and South, Australian keeper Henry Blackledge started for Gosport Borough, but they lost 2-1 to Hanwell Town in the Southern League Premier South.
First team loan watch
Members of the senior squad also made appearances out on loan as Ethon Archer and Zack Nelson made their first appearances for Port Vale and AFC Wimbledon respectively.
Joe Gbode had to wait for his first appearance as a Woking player as their National League clash with Yeovil Town was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
Millenic Alli started for a third successive game for Portsmouth in their 1-1 draw with fierce rivals Southampton.
