Tributes to be paid to lost Hatters before Bournemouth match

Before kick-off at Saturday's Premier League fixture with AFC Bournemouth, a period of silence will take place to pay tribute to four former Town players we were saddened to hear had recently passed away.

England international goalkeeper Ron Baynham made over 400 appearances for the club and helped the Hatters reach the FA Cup final in 1959.

Goalscoring forward Jimmy Husband helped the Town to promotion in 1974 and scored 48 goals in 162 games.

Midfielder Billy Kellock joined the Hatters in 1982 and made nine appearances, while centre-half Mick Collins featured ten times for the club in the 1950s.

Please show your respect for all of the former Hatters on the referee’s whistle just before kick-offs.

We have also been asked to share the details of the funerals for Ron and Jimmy, as well as Chris Nicholl, another former Town hero who passed away in February.

Jimmy Husband’s ceremony will take place at 10.45am on Monday 8th April at Held in the Oak chapel at Crownhill Crematorium, Milton Keynes MK8 0AH (using car park 3/4).

Chris Nicholl's ceremony will be at Wessex Vale Crematorium, Bubb Lane, Hedge End, Southampton SO30 2HL on Friday 19th April at 10.00am.

Ron Baynham’s ceremony will take place at Bedford Crematorium, Norse Road, Bedford, MK41 0RL at 2.30 pm on Tuesday 23rd April.
