The Town development squad came close on a number of occasions but could not break the deadlock against the League Two side who rarely threatened.

Adrian Forbes’ side almost led in the 34th minute when Jake Burger headed wide and a minute later Tobias Braney nodded a Benedict Benagr cross past the post.

Substitute Sam Anderson fired a shot wide shortly before the hour-mark as the Town pushed for the opening goal.

However, it just would not come, as Jack Lorentzen-Jones could not find the target with two chances in final 15 minutes and the game ended all square.

Town: Horlick, Pinnington, Benagr, Martins (sub Anderson 22), Chigozie, Kayibanda, Piesold, Lorentzen-Jones, Braney (sub Allen 61), Burger, Matthews-Lewis.

Subs not used: Camis, Lynch.
