Team news | As you were for Liverpool

Town boss Rob Edwards will be picking a team from the same squad he had at his disposal last weekend as he prepares his side to meet Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

It means the likes of Amari’i Bell, Reece Burke, Mads Andersen, Dan Potts, Luke Berry and Jordan Clark remain sidelined and unavailable for selection – despite a number of those making good progress in their recoveries.

At his Friday news conference Edwards was asked at length about Sunday’s opposition, their manager Jurgen Klopp, and the gulf between the two clubs – including whether or not the game is a “free hit” for his team.

“Absolutely not,” said the boss. “The game is another opportunity for us to win a game of football so I don’t see it like that.

“Liverpool are a massive club doing really well in the league but there is a chance, like there is in every game, if we do things right.

“We do those things right, if they have an off day, there is a chance, so I don’t see this game like that.”

With the Hatters ten games into the Premier League, Edwards was also asked on his thoughts if he was happy with the fact the his side were just one point from safety in the table at this stage of the season.

“No, we felt we should have done better,” he said. “I know a lot of teams probably will also feel that but we feel we’ve left a lot of points out there.

“We haven’t got enough points and we know we need to change that.”
