Starting in League One, goalkeeper Harry Isted has impressed for Barnsley, starting their last six games and conceding on just three occasions. The 26-year-old played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet at Bristol Rovers on the weekend before winning 3-1 against Matt Macey’s Portsmouth on Tuesday night.

Goalkeeper Macey did start and keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win for Pompey at Cambridge United on Saturday ahead of their defeat at Barnsley in midweek. That result leaves Portsmouth in 10th place, ten points behind the League One play-offs.

Staying in League One, forward Carlos Mendes Gomes played two full games in a row for the first time since October as Fleetwood Town fell to defeat at Cheltenham Town on Saturday and at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.

Glen Rea made a brief two-minute cameo for Cheltenham against Mendes Gomes’ Fleetwood, then started his second game for the Robins in midweek and featured for 76 minutes in their goalless draw against Lincoln City. Rea’s Cheltenham currently sit in 17th place in League One, four points clear of the relegation zone.

Moving onto League Two, John McAtee was rested on Saturday as Grimsby Town fell to defeat at promotion-chasing Carlisle United, then returned to the starting line-up in style during midweek as he scored an incredible lob from the edge of the box to open the scoring in the Mariners’ 1-1 draw with Newport County. McAtee’s Grimsby sit comfortably in 16th place in League Two, with an Emirates FA Cup quarter-final at Brighton & Hove Albion on the horizon.

Staying in the division, both Dion Pereira and Josh Neufville did not feature for Bradford City and Sutton United respectively as both sides extended their undefeated runs in League Two.

Going into the National League South, Conor Lawless came off the bench for the final 15 minutes of Farnborough’s goalless draw with Welling United in midweek after starting in Boro’s 2-1 win at Oxford City on the weekend.

Staying in the sixth tier, full-back Josh Williams started both of Hemel Hempstead Town’s games this week. Williams played 81 minutes on Saturday as the Tudors secured an impressive goalless draw against league leaders Ebbsfleet United. The 23-year-old also started in midweek at Bath City and fell to a 1-0 defeat, their first loss in five games.

Tyrelle Newton starred in Cheshunt’s 1-1 draw at Havant & Waterlooville in the National League South on Saturday, as he featured in the Non-League Paper’s Team of the Week for the division. The midfielder did not feature in the Cheshunt squad that beat Dover Athletic 3-0 on Tuesday night.

In the Southern League Premier Central, Daniel Idiakhoa played 90 minutes for Hitchin Town on Saturday as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against league leaders Tamworth at Top Field, ending a run of three games unbeaten.

Finally, Callum Nicolson scored an outstanding solo goal as 10-man Welwyn Garden City continued their away run of six wins out of seven with a 2-1 victory at Aylesbury United in the Southern League Division One Central on Saturday.
