The Town squad play their first open friendly since winning promotion to the Premier League when they take on Ipswich Town at Colchester United tonight.

A healthy contingent of Hatters fans are expected to make the trip to Essex with a strong side expected to line-up against the newly-promoted Tractor Boys.

The match is an all-ticket affair with none available on the night at Colchester, with Ipswich selling out their allocation.

Colchester would like to communicate the following information to supporters making the trip:

  • Arrive early as severe congestion is expected.
  • The Stadium car park is sold out (including disabled spaces) and there will be no entrance to the car park without a ticket.
  • The Park & Ride and Northern Gateway facilities are open for parking, but bookings must be made in advance via Mi Permit.
  • Access for pedestrians from the Park & Ride facility should be via the pathway at the back of the Park & Ride facility. This leads to Boxted Road and is safer than crossing the junction.
  • Parking restrictions and Ticketing are in place on local & residential roads close to the stadium.
  • At the end of the game, congestion is expected on exiting the Stadium site and the Park & Ride facility. Please allow for this. Your patience is appreciated.
  • Kiosks in the concourses will be open and serving hot food, snacks, hot and cold drinks. Kiosks in the stadium are cashless only.

A match report and post-match reaction will be available on lutontown.co.uk later this evening.

We wish all Hatters fans travelling a safe journey. See you there! #COYH
