New signing Cody Drameh says it is a ‘great time’ to join Luton Town after penning a loan deal for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

The 21-year-old was announced as manager Rob Edwards’ first signing a short while ago and is relishing the opportunity to reunite with the boss and some familiar faces at the club.

Following his first training session at The Brache on Thursday, Drameh said: “I’m really happy to be here. The manager really wanted me and I’m ready to progress, I can’t wait to get going.”

Having made three appearances for Leeds United so far this season, the London-born defender is eager to get more games under his belt.

“I like to do my talking on the pitch. I’m one that believes actions speak louder than words so hopefully I can show that on the pitch, show what I can bring to the table in the next game.

“It is a great time to be at the club. You guys are flying so I’m just hoping to add a bit of quality to that, help us all reach the same goal and for us to get in the play-offs is the ideal goal so hopefully I’m here to help you guys reach that and vice versa.”

Last season he got to grips with the Championship on loan at Cardiff City where he was awarded Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season after making just 22 appearances.

“I have to thank all the people that were there as well. They helped me to achieve that because without the team, I couldn’t really do anything so thank you to them. Hopefully I’m willing to have the same impact here.

“It is a very physical league, games are flying so you can’t really dwell on one result so hopefully I’m ready for the challenge and hopefully my team-mates can help me out with that!”
