In League One, Matt Macey returned to the starting line-up and kept his third clean-sheet in five matches as Portsmouth picked up a point on the road against Lincoln City.

Having missed the last two games through illness, the 28-year-old was back between the sticks to keep the 14th-placed Imps at bay.

Elsewhere in the division, keeper Harry Isted played for the third match in succession and helped Barnsley to a 4-0 win against Cheltenham Town.

In the absence of Brad Collins, Isted has played the last three matches and kept two clean-sheets.

James Norwood, Herbie Kane, Adam Phillips and Jordan Williams were on target for the Tykes who are sixth in League One looking for an immediate return to the Championship.

Carlos Mendes Gomes played just over an hour as Fleetwood Town as they earned an impressive point against promotion-chasing Plymouth Argyle.

Playing in a centre-forward role, the Spaniard had a chance just before he was substituted as he took aim from range but he wasn't able to add to his eight-goal tally so far this season. Mendes Gomes and Fleetwood are back in action when they face Cambridge United this evening.

In League Two, John McAtee and Grimsby Town put successive losses behind them as they beat Northampton 2-1 at Sixfields.

The striker played the full 90 minutes as the Mariners came from behind to win thanks to goals from Luke Waterfall and Anthony Driscoll-Glennon, which were both set-up by Josh Emmanuel.

Both Dion Pereira and Josh Neufville weren't involved for Bradford City and Sutton United respectively as the latter extended their league unbeaten run to four matches with a 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers.

In the National League South, development squad midfielder Conor Lawless made his debut for Farnborough as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Eastbourne Borough.

He was introduced after the hour mark and could be set to feature once more tonight against Weymouth.

Elsewhere in the division, Josh Williams started for Hemel Hempstead Town as they lost 3-0 at Hungerford Town. A week previously, the left-back was in the league Team of the Week for his performance against Weymouth.

Tyrelle Newton scored his first goal for Cheshunt in an eight-goal thriller at Chippenham Town. The young midfielder opened the scoring inside six minutes in a match that ended in a 4-4 draw.

In the Southern League Premier Central, Daniel Idiakhoa continued his impressive form at Hitchin Town as he was named Man of the Match in a home draw against Nuneaton Borough. He started the match at Top Field and striker Josh Allen came off the bench, as was the case last night as they recorded a second draw in a row, this time with Barwell.

Finally, Callum Nicolson played the full 90 minutes as Welwyn Garden City beat Didcot Town 1-0 in the Southern League Division One Central.
