Another trip to South Wales was all set for the Luton Town faithful as the Hatters travelled to the Cardiff City Stadium.

The last trip to Cardiff City was in April and it resulted in a 1-0 win for the Hatters.

Ethan Horvath had an early save to make when Max Watters took a shot low down to the left but Horvath saved well.

Luton got off to a good start when a great ball over the top from Dan Potts found Carlton Morris on the left wing. He cut in and unleashed a good shot but it was saved by Ryan Allsop.

It was a very even game. Both teams had good chances in the first half but none were converted on the first 45 minutes.

Nathan Jones made a crucial sub at half time when he subbed Fred Onyedinma on for Reece Burke. This sub proved to be vital for Luton for the second half.

Less than two minutes into the second half, Luton took the lead. It was after substitute Onyedinma took the ball past a defender and chipped in a great cross to Luke Freeman who volleyed in to score his first goal for Luton Town.

Nathan Jones made another substitution, bringing on Gabriel Osho for goal scorer Luke Freeman and this sub proved to be vital as well.

Six minutes after he was subbed on, Osho doubled the score line for Nathan Jones’ team. A great ball was curled in by James Bree to the back post Gabriel Osho smashed it in to give Luton Town a two-goal lead as well as scoring his goal for the club.

Cardiff were looking to hit back quickly and they started applying pressure on the Luton defence. Steve Morison decided to sub on Romaine Sawyers with twenty minutes to go.

In the final five minutes of the match the Bluebirds got one back. It was the substitute Romaine Sawyers whose long-range effort found it’s way past Ethan Horvath to give Cardiff City hope in the final few minutes. Cardiff couldn’t find another goal and Luton Town won the game 1-2.

A fantastic win for Nathan Jones’ side who make it two out of two wins in South Wales this season. Luton now move on to Saturday where the team faces Wigan Athletic at Kenilworth Road.
