Luton Town faced Preston North End at home for the third game of the EFL Championship season.

Preston North End were yet to concede in the Championship season so far after drawing 0-0 In their first two games.

Carlton Morris had the best chance in the early stages after he got on the end of a Luke Freeman cross but Freddie Woodman saved well. Preston North End soon took the lead soon after.

A great cross from Robbie Brady was finished excellently by Brad Potts with a fantastic scissor kick which flew past Ethan Horvath to score the Lilywhites’ first league goal of the season.

Jordan Clark came close from a volley but Freddie Woodman saved. Ethan Horvath was forced to make a few more saves before the break but the visitors led 0-1 at the interval.

There was a penalty appeal for the Hatters at the start of the second half. Elijah Adebayo was taken down in the box but the referee didn’t think it was a penalty. There were quite a few yellow cards for the Lilywhites near the end of the game as they tried to run down the clock.

Cauley Woodrow came close but couldn’t quite get it over Freddie Woodman. The game then came to a close after this and Preston North End left Kenilworth Road with three points.

A disappointing loss for Nathan Jones’ men but we hope to get some more points on the board when we travel to Bristol City on Tuesday.
