With the goal at his mercy, Gabe Osho admitted he was ‘so scared’ just before putting the finishing touches on a delicious James Bree cross to score his first Luton goal!

The second half substitute was another example of Nathan Jones’ game-changers as he stabbed the ball home from close range to double Luton’s advantage – adding to Luke Freeman’s volley 15 minutes earlier.

“Everyone is happy,” Osho said after the match. “Everyone wants to keep the momentum going, it was a bit of a slow start to the season, but I think we’re now just picking up again and everyone is excited.”

“The performances in the first three games weren’t too bad, obviously we had a little blip against Bristol City and the manager just said let’s get back to where we were and the quality we have brought in will show, and I think that has been what has been showing the last three games.”

He labelled the victory at the Cardiff City Stadium as a ‘typical Luton away performance’, adding: “We had a lot of those last year, if you can win away from home you always have a good chance especially with our home record.”

On his goal, a first for the club, Osho couldn’t hide his delight: “That is the second of my career! I think the combined distance of those goals is about six yards, but you take them whatever way they come.

“It was an amazing ball. I just had to tap it in, and I was so scared! It was good to score my first goal for the club.

“There was literally a queue of us at the back post, we just saw the ball coming and it was easier to miss really.”

The 24-year-old has featured in all but two games so far this season and hopes to continue making an impact wherever the manager sees fit.

“The coaches are always on to me about not scoring enough so hopefully now I’ve scored one they can all start coming.

“Wherever I can help the team is important for me because the team comes first so I’m happy to play wherever the manager puts me.”
