Loan Watch | Pepple goes head-to-head with Neufville!

Aribim Pepple and Josh Neufville went head-to-head at the weekend as Grimsby Town hosted Sutton United in Sky Bet League Two.

Neufville started the game for Sutton and produced a dazzling run to cut through the home side’s defence but was unable to conjure up an end product.

The U’s continued to probe with a handful of chances but were unable to make the breakthrough, as Neufville was later subbed just after the hour mark.

Minutes before the tricky winger was replaced, Pepple was introduced for the Mariners and certainly impressed with his 30-minute cameo.

He latched onto a loose pass and was through one-on-one with only the goalkeeper to beat, but the outstretched leg of Jack Rose was enough to deny him.

Pepple was heavily involved in Grimsby’s efforts to find an opener and played a superb ball through to strike partner Ryan Taylor – but he too was denied by Rose.

Elsewhere in the football league, Carlos Mendes Gomes was sidelined for Fleetwood’s goalless draw after suffering a hamstring injury on his debut earlier in the week, whilst John McAtee remains out after recently undergoing surgery on his shoulder.
