A tough fixture for the Hatters awaited as we travelled up to Turf Moor to face recently relegated Burnley.

This was also the Clarets’ first home game since their relegation from the Premier League to make things tougher for us.

The game started brilliantly for the Hatters as we opened the scoring five minutes in. A ball whipped in was headed down by Elijah Adebayo to Luke Freeman. He couldn’t quite get his shot off but it fell to Dan Potts who slotted the ball into the back of the net to put us 0-1 up! This seemed to motivate us and we kept pushing for that second goal.

Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric was forced into making some saves to deal with the Luton Town pressure. The first half finished 0-1 to Luton Town.

Burnley must have been given a good team talk by new manager Vincent Kompany as they started the second half very well. Josh Brownhill equalised for Burnley within the first few minutes if the second half.

A corner was swung in for Burnley and fell to Josh Brownhill on the edge of the box who fired the ball past Ethan Horvath to level things up. There were some changes by both teams in the second half as each side hunted for a winner.

Carlton Morris came close for the Hatters but his shot went wide. Ashley Barnes had some decent chances for the Clarets but failed to convert any. The game finished 1-1.

A good result for the Hatters on the road against a tough Burnley side. Onto Newport County in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday!
