The Hatters travelled to Bristol to face Nigel Pearson’s Bristol City. Luton were looking to bounce back after a 0-1 loss against Preston North End.

The game got off to a bad start for the away side as Bristol City took the lead within five minutes. A perfect ball threaded through by Alex Scott got to Nahki Wells who finished past Ethan Horvath in goal and put Bristol City ahead.

Elijah Adebayo came close for Nathan Jones’ side after Allan Campbell played a ball through to Adebayo but his shot went just wide. It wasn’t long until the Robins had a second goal. Han Noah Massengo played the ball to Andreas Weimann and it was his cross that found Tommy Conway who tapped it in.

Bristol City kept pushing for the third goal and it almost came when Han-NoahMassengo’s deflected effort went wide of the post. The Hatters were trying to find a way to get back in the game and Elijah Adebayo had a chance from a corner but didn’t convert.

Nathan Jones made three changes at half time in an attempt to get a goal back (this also came with a change of formation).

There was a penalty shout for Bristol City but the referee wasn’t convinced. Soon after, Bristol City were down to ten men after Mark Sykes challenge on Luke Freeman was deemed worthy of a red card. Sonny Bradley, Luke Freeman and Andreas Weimann were also booked as a result of this.

The Town needed to pounce on this and Jordan Clark sent one over the crossbar after a nice move from the team. In the closing stages of the match, Gabe Osho had a chance which was well saved by the Bristol City goalkeeper Daniel Bentley. The game finished 2-0 to the home side.

A disappointing loss for the Hatters as the hunt for the first win of the season continues. The Town travel to south Wales to face Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium.
