Town’s U18s progressed into the second round of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup with a 4-3 win against Leyton Orient on Saturday!
Jake Burger rounded off an impressive team goal with a delicate chip over the ‘keeper, before Ed McJannet doubled the lead just before half-time.
The young midfielder then smashed in a third after good work from Tyrelle Newton who scored earlier in the week for the Development side.
Striker Josh Allen helped re-established a three-goal advantage after Orient pulled a goal back before the hour-mark, finishing calmly from Newton’s ball over the top.
And despite a nervy end to proceedings after the away side pulled two goals back in the latter stages, the U18s held on to book their place in the next round of the competition.
