The Hatters’ Development side recorded a superb 1-0 victory against Arsenal at London Colney earlier this morning.

Against a strong Arsenal outfit, the Luton youngsters more than held their own and in the eyes of Professional Player Development boss Adrian Forbes, earned a 'well deserved' win thanks to a first-half goal from Trialist A.

Harry Isted played between the sticks behind a back four of Avan Jones, captain Casey Pettit, Adam Wedd and Josh Williams, the latter who provided the all-important cross as the Hatters took the lead just before half-time.

Conor Lawless, Tyrelle Newton and Callum Nicolson made up the three in midfield, while there was a return to action for Dion Pereira, who supported TQ Addy and Trialist A in attack, after he suffered an injury on loan at Yeovil Town last month.

Commenting on the action after the match, Forbes said: “First and foremost the attitude and application from every single player throughout the 90 minutes was superb.

“Arsenal had a lot of possession so as a group we had to make sure we stuck to our tasks and were hard to break down.

“Like all the first-team boys that come across to play, Harry (Isted) and Dion’s (Pereira) attitude were brilliant. I have to say that Harry really led by example with a young back-line in-front of him and I’m really proud of the players today.”

Starting line-up: Isted; Jones, Pettit (C), Wedd, Williams; Lawless, Newton, Nicolson; Addy, Trialist A, Pereira
