Luton Town will kick-off the 2021-22 Sky Bet Championship season with a home match against newly-promoted Peterborough United at Kenilworth Road on Saturday 7 August!
The visitors finished second in League One last season and the two sides will meet for the first time since 2019 when the Hatters were 4-0 winners on their way to being crowned champions of the third division.
After the scheduled Carabao Cup Round One tie takes place, Nathan Jones’ side will then travel to the Hawthorns to face recently relegated West Bromwich Albion. The Baggies were victorious twice in the 2019-20 Championship season against the Hatters as they were promoted in second place and Town miraculously stayed up on the final day of the campaign.
Swiftly after, Luton’s first league midweek match is a trip to Barnsley, whom they faced on the opening day of last season. That is followed by two home matches against Birmingham City and Sheffield United to conclude the first month of action, with the possibility of a Carabao Cup Round Two match in-between.
Following the first international break, September begins with back-to-back away trips versus Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City, the latter of which is scheduled for Wednesday 15 September – four days after the visit to Ewood Park.
Looking ahead to the festive month of December, it begins with an away trip to promoted Blackpool and Town will welcome Bristol City to Kenilworth Road on Boxing Day.

2021 concludes with an away trip against Swansea City on Wednesday 29 December, before the New Year kicks-off with a visit to Coventry City on the 1st of the month.
The potential of both legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final succeed the match at the Ricoh Arena, as well as the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, before the Hatters later return to league action against Bournemouth on Saturday 15 January.
There is an additional international break in January due to lost matches in 2019-20. A full round of Championship matches is scheduled during that period and the Hatters are due to face Blackburn Rovers at home on Saturday 29 January. This match will be subject to the EFL postponement policy for international call-ups (three players being called-up).
The final away match is against Fulham on Saturday 30 April and the 2021-22 season concludes versus Reading at Kenilworth Road the following Saturday, which is due to kick-off at 12:30pm.
Please note that at present this is a draft fixture list and all dates are subject to change.
