The Hatters will be looking to put weekend disappointment behind them as they welcome Bristol City to Kenilworth Road, with the intention of extending a remarkable midweek home record.

Town fell short against Reading on their travels Boxing Day but have the chance to put things right against Dean Holden’s Bristol City – who come into the game on the back of defeating Wycombe Wanderers.

Who?

Bristol City gained promotion to the Championship after winning the League One title in 2015. They have remained in the second division ever since and currently sit 9th in the table with two wins from their last five matches.

The Manager – Dean Holden

Following a lengthy playing career in the football league, he went into management in 2014, becoming assistant manager at Oldham Athletic – one of the ten clubs he also played for.

Later in 2016, he joined Lee Johnson at Bristol City and spent the next four years as his assistant, before his dismissal in July.

After a period of overseeing the club as caretaker head coach, he was offered the permanent job in August.

Main Threat – Chris Martin

Bristol City have an abundance of attacking threat, including Nakhi Wells and Famara Diedhiou, as well as the experienced Chris Martin.

The 32-year-old joined the Robins at the start of the season from Derby and has earned himself three goals and five assists. He is also a familiar name for Hatters fans after a brief loan spell at the Kenny back in 2008.

When and where?

Kick-off is 7:45pm at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday 29th December.

Man in the middle?

The referee for tomorrow’s game is Gavin Ward, who last officiated the Hatters in the 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers in November.

Played before?

Tomorrow’s fixture is exactly one year on from Bristol City’s 3-0 win over the Hatters last season, the same scoreline Town won by at Kenilworth Road against the Robins.
