A hat-trick from Dylan Stitt helped the Hatters Under-21s through to the quarter-finals of the Beds Senior Cup after a 5-0 win at Dunstable Town on Tuesday night.
Alex Lawless’ side, which contained Harry Fox who featured 45 minutes for the first-team against Brighton on Tuesday, almost took the lead on eight minutes only for Jamie Odegah to hit the bar with a diving header.
However, the Hatters were ahead on the quarter-hour when Stitt scored his first of the evening with an impudent chip over the Dunstable goalkeeper.
And six minutes later the lead was doubled when Jack Lorentzen-Jones hit a screamer from outside the box.
After the break the Town had to be patient before adding to the score again, Stitt scoring his second 15 minutes from time with a simple header from a cross.
Five minutes later it was 4-0 when good play from Zach Ioannides found Odegah and the striker could not miss from close range.
And the scoring was complete when Stitt completed his hat-trick five minutes from the end with a lovely curling shot.
