Palmer on Exeter victory

The midfielder looks back on the win over the Grecians after scoring for the third game in a row

Town fan-favourite Kasey Palmer has stated his delight in playing in front of the Hatters fans after scoring his third goal in as many games to secure another crucial three points at Kenilworth Road

Having scored in the away draw with Doncaster Rovers and finding the net against Wycombe last Saturday, the midfielder expressed jubilation at being able to finally score at home, stating: “Yeah it was nice, especially to score at home with the other two being away. I don’t know where the headers have come from to be fair, but I won’t complain.

“Obviously set-pieces are something we work extensively on and now it seems to be becoming more prevalent in our games, it’s great to be a threat from set-pieces as well as what we do on the ball.”

Palmer, who is currently on loan with Town from Championship side Hull City, has made a thoroughly successful start to life at Kenilworth Road having made 12 appearances in total since joining in January. When asked about what it is that’s helping him turn in consistent performances, the midfielder said: “I’m happy. I drive into training every day happy, I like being here and I’m enjoying it and I think it shows when I’m on the pitch.

“I really enjoy playing in front of the Luton fans, I think they can see that I am trying to impress them.”

With a league run-in against Vertu Trophy Finalists Stockport County to come and four home games to play in April, Town will be doing everything they can to reach the playoffs, with Palmer explaining: “It was all about the win and the three points today, we want to get as close to those playoffs as we can. We have got a couple of days rest but we have an early kick-off on Saturday, it’s good because as a player you just want to get into these matches.”
