Jacob Brown | "I’m on the top of the world"

Scotland international Jacob Brown netted his first-ever Premier League goal on his 250th career appearance during Saturday's win against Crystal Palace.

“I’m on the top of the world,” said Brown after scoring the winner. “It’s a crazy feeling, the three points was the main thing but for me to get my first Premier League goal was a great feeling.

“I think you could tell by the celebration that I didn’t know what I was doing. The emotions were so high with the importance of the game and me wanting to get that first goal.

“To finally get it is great, it was a great delivery by Chieo, he’s done the hard work and then I’ve got on the end of it which was brilliant.

“When you’re on the bench, you just want to come on and help the team whatever way you can. Obviously, I’ve come on and scored the winner, so that’s the best thing I could do.

“I think it just shows that the whole team are working together, it’s not just the lads who are starting, it’s everyone working hard as a team.

“The win was even sweeter because it was in-front of our home fans, we’ve said throughout the whole season about how good they have been.

“The 12 added minutes at the end showed that we needed the fans there because they keep us going until the very end.

“The main thing now is focusing on the next game, we’ve got these three points but we want to build on that and do it again.”
