Premier League Kicks participant nominated as Luton Town's Community Champion 2025-26

Tristan Community Champion

At the recent League One game against Exeter, Tristan, a 13-year-old participant at the Community Trust's Premier League Kicks site at Tithe Farm, Houghton Regis, enjoyed a special match day experience not to be forgotten any time soon.

Tristan has been chosen as Luton Town's Community Captain for significant improvements in his confidence and self-esteem since taking part in our Premier League Kicks session as part of the Premier League's More Than A Game Campaign.

They are one of 93 Community Captains nominated this season for the positive impact they have had in their local area. Whilst Tristan's skill and ability in football was evident, the Community Trust's coaches observed that support was needed emotionally, socially and personally to encourage Tristan to develop as a player. Over time, Tristan's confidence grew and he became a leader on and off the astro-turf, supporting his peers to make better decisions on the pitch and in the community.

Tristan's match day experience included reading out the first team squad list on the Club's Instagram Story, being presented with his Community Captain award by Kal Naismith before kick-off, taking part in the Town on Target half-time activity and being in the Press Room post-match to hear Jack Wilshere respond to questions. Tristan was lucky enough to spend some time speaking with Jack about his award post-press conference, too.

We are celebrating 20 years of the Premier League Kicks programme, which uses the power of football and sport to help young people reach their potential.

Over the last 20 years more than 1 million hours of Premier League Kicks sessions have been delivered across England and Wales, supporting more than 600,000 young people.

Thanks to the Premier League funding, Luton Town can deliver Premier League Kicks across Luton and Bedfordshire which are supporting over 150 young people a week with safe spaces to play and access to positive opportunities. The Premier League supports football at every level and helps young people and communities to thrive. It is more than a game.
